Borealis Infrastructure employs a cross-disciplinary, team-based approach to investment origination and asset management. Each Borealis investment professional who sources an investment opportunity is the same person who works to close the investment and subsequently manages the asset over the long term. This approach motivates our investment professionals to avoid short-term decision making at the investment stage since they will also assume responsibility for the decisions made during the investment process.
At least one member of the Borealis senior management team is assigned to, and actively involved with, each asset and each investment opportunity. The Borealis senior management team is complemented by a deep set of investment professionals who typically have a soft focus in a particular infrastructure sector (such as transportation or energy) but also have a broad enough skill set to permit them to make investments and manage assets in other infrastructure sectors. Every Borealis team member also has the full support of Borealis’ accounting and finance, credit and risk and legal support teams.
