Borealis Infrastructure Privacy Statement
Borealis Infrastructure Management Inc. (“Borealis”, “we”, “us” or “our”) takes steps to meet privacy principles and requirements with respect to personal information under applicable Canadian privacy legislation. The purpose of this statement is to inform individuals (“you” or “your”) how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, as more particularly described under applicable privacy legislation. This statement applies to our collection, use and disclosure of personal information in Canada. This statement does not apply to information about our employees or to information that is not personal information.
Personal Information We Collect
Borealis and its agents and representatives generally will not collect personal information directly from you, unless specifically and knowingly provided by you. However, Borealis and its agents and representatives may, in certain circumstances in the course of its business of making and managing infrastructure investments, collect certain personal information, including from third party sources.
Personal information we collect includes:
- name, address, telephone number, and other contact information;
- personal information about employees of businesses we are considering acquiring or investing in, as part of our due diligence;
- personal information about tenants of residential investment properties we own; and
- such other information we may collect with your consent or as permitted or required by law.
Use of Personal Information
Borealis generally uses personal information for the following purposes:
- as part of our due diligence when considering whether to acquire or invest in certain businesses;
- maintaining business records for reasonable periods, and generally managing and administering our business;
- meeting legal, regulatory, insurance, security and processing requirements; and
- for such other uses you authorize or as permitted or required by law.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information
Although Borealis does not routinely disclose personal information, we may disclose personal information as necessary to manage and administer our business; to meet legal, regulatory, insurance, audit, and security requirements; as described below; and otherwise with your consent or as permitted or required by law.
Business Transactions. Personal information may be used by Borealis and disclosed to parties connected with any proposed or actual financing, securitization, insuring, sale, assignment or other disposal of all or part of Borealis or our business or assets, for the purposes of evaluating and/or performing the proposed transaction. These purposes may include, as examples:
- permitting those parties to determine whether to proceed or continue with the transaction
- fulfilling reporting, inspection or audit requirements or obligations to those parties
Assignees or successors of Borealis or our business or assets may use and disclose your personal information for similar purposes as those described in this Privacy Statement.
Your Consent
Consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information may be given in various ways. Consent can be express or implied. You may provide your consent in some circumstances where notice has been provided to you about our intentions with respect to your personal information and you have not withdrawn your consent for an identified purpose, such as by using an “opt out” option provided, if any. Generally, by providing us with personal information, we will assume that you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of such information for the purposes identified or described in this Privacy Statement, if applicable, or otherwise at the time of collection.

Information We Collect Online
This website is owned and operated by Borealis. When you access and interact with our website, we may collect certain information often referred to as "click stream data." Such data may include the type of Internet browser and operating system you are using, the pages and information you accessed on our site, the total time spent on our site and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site. We will not obtain any click stream data when you are outside our site, except the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site.

Authorized employees, agents and mandataries of Borealis who require access to your personal information in order to fulfil their job requirements will have access to your personal information.

Your continued provision of personal information or use of our services following any changes to this Privacy Statement constitutes your acceptance of any such changes. This Privacy Statement is effective as of May 1, 2011.
